One Year Ago Today.

This was last year.

This is today!

My Dearest Zealand,
I am sooooo glad I had you. Oh, how this first year together has been revealing. There were times, before I met you face to face, that I was uncertain what motherhood would bring and the challenge. You, my darling, have been the best teacher a mother could ask for. These last 12 months have been some of the most challenging of my life and I wouldn't trade them for anything. Knowing you has made my life ever so richer. I feel like I'm seeing things around me for the first time. Watching you come into your personality is hilarious. I love your outgoing spirit and eagerness to help others find the joy you have in life.

You are one lucky girl. There is an abundance of love that surrounds you and it will be present in joy and through trials. I know that so much life lies in front of us and I can't wait to see what God has in store for you.

Love,
Mamma

Hi Deirdre--
Your mom in law shared your blog and your pix and commentaries are awesome. I'm very intrigued by your birth alternative role (couple of entries ago). It's a topic i'm wanting to write about for a grad school class i'm taking. Wanted to know if you wouldn't mind talking to me about it?
you can email me at wilona7hotmail.com.

Thanks!
Wilona Karimabadi
